A trip down to the lake at Felbrigg today to see if any Dragonflies had emerged was rewarded with at least 6 Broad-bodied Chasers around the pool and ditch to the south of the lake, with an immature male and female pictured below.

Dusky Thrush
A couple of pics of yesterdays Dusky Thrush, a most surprising but welcome occurrence, and my first BOU tick for some 18 months. It was pretty hard to get a decent totally unobstructed view of it, or to get the auto-focus to ignore the various leaves and branches as it lurked up in the trees, but these two came out fairly ok.

Some recent photos
Although far from the greatest of weather, the occasional sunny day that we have had this spring has brought out the butterflies with a dozen species recorded on the patch so far this year, with a few pics below.
Small Tortoiseshell
Peacock
Brimstone
Comma
Green-veined White
Large White
Orange Tip
Small Copper
Green Hairstreak
Also the first damselflies have started to emerge at Felbrigg, including this Common Blue Damselfly.
Finally some recent bird pics from around the patch, with some of the local Fulmars, and a roosting Tawny Owl in Felbrigg Park.
